So, I have been charting my BBT this month. According to that and site I have been using to help me chart, I "o"ed on CD11. Okay, but my temp is still up? How long is it supposed to stay up? I am on CD15. And it keeps going up. The spike was at 98.1 and stayed there 2 days. Then it went to 98.4 and then 98.5. I am just curious if this is normal and how long is it supposed to stay up? They say that I ovulated when my temp dropped to 97.1. I thought it was when you spiked up that you were ovulating. I am very confused to this whole thing!! Please help!

I am in my second month temp charting but have been reading alot about it. I am new to this too but from what I understand once your temp jumps up then you have already ovulated. Your temp will stay up until your period starts and then will drop or drop gradually. If your temp stays up for 18 days or more past ovulation you may be pregnant.
My temps are generally higher than the average and when my current cycle just started on Sat (day 1 for me) they were still a high and gradually went down - this is due to progesterone levels still high.

Hi!
Your temps should rise at ovulation and should not fall until 1-2 days before your period -- some women have high temps for the first 2 days of their period as well.
There is a great article about BBT charting at the top of this board. The sticky is called TCC Information Archive. If you look at the link posted there, it might explain things nicely for you. ;)
Good luck!
