Alright, so I bought a new box of green tea and I notice that this has some extra stuff in it. It has Vitamin C, A, E, and some ginseng. Now, I know that too much A and E can be dangerous (if I'm not mistaken). I don't want to start drinking 5-6 cups of tea a day and be doing harm to my body. It has 30% of daily value of A (1 tea bag), and 30 of E. It also says it has 1.41g of green tea, doesn't that seem to be high? I thought one bag had like 50-100mgs. Perhaps I'm confusing that with the catcheins (spelling).

Bryan...... I wouldn't worry about it unless you drink it with meals with fat or add cream to it.The A and E need fat to transport them across the intestinal membrane and green tea is fat free.

Now for me i buy green tea with the purple antioxidants that have A and E but i add olive oil and whey protein to the mix as i want all the good fats from olive oil to uptake those fat solubles into me along with its polyphenols because although exercise is a powerful longevity and antiaging endeavor its also a double edge sword especially cardio because trillions of mitochondria are pumping ATP to fuel the muscle explosions for power and energy but this also produces mega free radicals so thats my take on it all....

Brian12817, my favorite green tea is the Celestial decaf green tea and the Bigelow decaf Green tea with lemon by Bigelow.
I also take Florida Crystals demerara sugar.
This is my favorite sugar.
Its a brown crystal sugar.
Its all natural with no chemicals and makes tea taste great.
They sell it in Whole Foods.
They also make a powered organic sugar.
Thats for cakes and cookies.

Thank you both very much for your input. 6foot3, do you by chance drink Salada green tea? You mentioned purple antioxidants and I usually see that there when I pick up the red antioxidant box.

Barry, I do enjoy Celestial tea, also. I drink the Honey Lemon w/ ginseng. Good brand of tea. I'll have to look into the sweetener that you use. I use Splenda and I hear mixed reviews about it. My aunt uses Sweet Leaf, it's all natural and taste very good.

I was talking to my cousin about green tea and he said if I drink too much of it in high concentrations it can be bad for my liver. I put 4-5 teabags in a tall glass and drink 1-2 glasses.. that's about 8-10 bags per sitting. Is this bad?

Brian....again the Polyphenols in green tea (EGCG) are one of the best for healing and restoring the body. The EGCG will help the liver...And if it were bad then my liver should be shot as for over ten years now i go thru 96 tea bags a week (2 bx 48 ct). I always have 2 tea bags in a glass of hot water at a time..... (Helpful Hint...) Save the tea bags when your done and squeeze them in your hands and rub the green polyphenol fluid all over your face, neck and arms for sun protection.....

I hope tht its not bad for the liver.I have about two tea bags a day Eveything that have heard so far was good about it.It contains powerful antioxidents that can protect the immune system from infections. It can also protect against cancer an lost of other things.

Yes, caffeine occurs naturally in tea but tea has an amino acid called L-theanine, which counteracts the effects of caffeine.
