kaywhy?

Last tuesday, I broke my jaw playing soccer. The oral surgeon said it was cracked near the joint, and there really is nothing they do for it. Basically, he told me not to eat solids, talk much or open my mouth. So I haven't. The pain is still pretty intense. I have been taking Tylenol around the clock and a muscle relaxant at bed time. I cannot take the muscle relaxant all the time because I am in college, and a science major: Labs and drugs, do not work out!(well, unless you are synthesizing them.) Does anyone have any suggestions for pain management?
With the food issue, I am able to get some soft foods down with out chewing, but i really just don't feel like eating. I have tried Naked drinks, Jamba Juice (smoothies) and a lot of soup, but I am kind of getting sick of it. My main problem, is not wanting to eat, then feeling super exhausted through out the day. Does anyone have any good ideas for soft food? It doesn't necessarly have to be liquid, just not any chewing involved.
Another thing, I was told that I have an ear infection, due to the jaw sliding backwards in to the ear canal, I guess. Has anyone else had ear problems due to a jaw injury?? Mine hurt like CRAZY!
Thank you in advance! I appreciate it!
