i have a major major problem with contant thinking, racing mind, any thought that pops into my head, no matter how insignificant it is, will repeat itself over and over until i say it out loud to someone, my mom who thank God is so patient! but i dont get any scarey thoughts, and the only time my mind shuts off is if i sleep, and i am very obsessive about picking every hair and fuzz ball off my pillows and blankets, but i dont have to wash my hands or things like that a certain amount of times, but i cannot stand wrinkles in sheets, very very picky, too picky! but the repeated thoughts, are really driving me crazy and i dont get distracted even if i am reading or watching T.V., still my mind keeps going! does this sound like OCD? and anyone have any recommendations?? i MUST have a pen and pad with me at all times to write whatever thoughts come into my mind, and then i have to unload to my mom, and if I let my mind get too full, then i get very anxious and tense....any help or input would be appreciated, and this all got much worse in past year as health has gotten much worse too, have lyme and other illnesses too........but i have always been a perfectionist......thanks

They do sound like obsessive compulsive symptoms, but they may be down to other things. OCD isnt all about washing hands (in fact it doesnt matter what you do). OCD behaviours are characterized by the repetitive nature and anxiety you describe. So yes, it DOES sound a lot like OCD, but Im not a doctor.
The racing thoughts could be caused by OCD, depression, or as a result of Lyme disease.
My recommendation would be to speak to your doctor about all this. :)
