Can anyone give me some help and advice please. I have had elevated alkaline and phosphatase for a few years now, and I have been diagnosed with a fatty liver. At one point the doctor said that it was seroxat ...depression tablets that could be causing it. , but I wasn't taking them at the time. Anyway I went for a blood test again a week ago as the test was raised again, so I told the doctor that I wasn't happy at it being left at that. He sent me for three more blood tests, not sure what but one came back normal , the other two said ....see doctor. I noticed that the doctor put down bone profile .I have to go back to see G.P on tues the 31st of october. Please can anyone shed some light as to what may be happening to me as I am really scared. THANKYOU AUD:blob_fire

It's hard to tell. Your doc will have to do several tests to figure out what's going on. In the meantime, read through the posts here on this board. There are many posts that fit your situation.

Well, your first visit may seem mundane. But he/she will ask questions, will get a medical history. They will get some blood to accomplish tests to fully evaluate the functions of the liver. They may even refer you or schedule you for an ultra sound. They will discuss treatment with you and a course of action. Then they will schedule a follow up appointment to go over what the results of the tests where.
I suggest you write down questions you have for the doctor ahead of time. Once you get into the doctors office, you can get nervous and forget what you wanted to ask. (been there done it!) Be honest with them. Don't let them rush you. Make sure they explain everything to you until you are comfortable with it and understand the treatment. If your nervous, let the doctor know. If they are going over the information too fast let them know that as well. It can be alot to absorb.
Let us know how it goes.
