Has anyone with a digestive disorder had a fear of choking to death when they eat?
If so how did you over come or are you still struggling with it as I am.
I constantly, every time I eat feel like it is stuck in my throat and I am scared that I'm going to choke so I can't eat.
I am so scared. I am practically on an all liquid diet except for very mushy foods like mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, pudding etc..
Can I survive like this as long as I'm getting the nutrients I'm needing?
I have lost so much weight because of my digestive problems for any of you that have ever read any of my posts you'll know what I am talking about.
I am currently at 131 and I am 5'10. My cheeks are really starting to look sunken in.
I am desperate to find out what is going on but my gastroenterologist has become such a jerk I am ready to find someone else. But theres another barrier, no insurance.
Last time I went to see him he basically told me that I was bringing on these problems myself and asked me if I have an eating disorder or if I have ever had one. Of course not!
I begged and started bawling to him to please find out what is wrong with me so that I CAN eat again. I told him I am so depressed and I want to eat so badly but can't with all the bloating and nausea and the feeling of food getting stuck. He isn't listening to me anymore.
I begged him to dialate my esophagus and he said he didn't see any reason to.
He said there was nothing on my endoscopy to show reason that he needed to.
Well that was done 2 years ago when my problems first began. Things have changed since then and he's not listening.
I went for a CAT scan last week and I got sick from this crystal light tasting drink with dye in it that they gave me to drink, it wasn't the barium. I had an allergic reaction so I had the scan without contrast and he wants me to go back and have it done again with contrast. He said he would call in a prescription for a type of steroid that is supposed to prevent a reaction to the contrast dye drink and iodine iv. How am I supposed to afford it, I can't!
The prescription is $94.00 and the first cat scan I've already been billed $2300 so I will have almost $5000 in medical bills from cat scans alone.
I am scared and just want my problems to be over but I can't afford this either.
Any suggestions anybody please is greatly appreciated.
Also lately I have had green stool when I go to the bathroom and my lower back is always aching now almost everyday it seems like.
Is that gallbladder related? I really am thinking all my problems are related to my gallbladder. Can gallbladder problems give you swallowing problems?
Sorry for so many questions, if anyone can give me any feedback please feel free to post your own medical stories. I'd like to hear from you and get your support as well as I am here to support you too.
We're not in this alone!
