Hi I found this site this evening. I have an appointment on the 18th of November to discuss my problems. See it will be 3 years in January a trunk of a car fell on me. I had some neck pain and the doctor ordered a MRI it came back with 2 lesions on the brain and problems at C3-C4 and from C4 down to C6. I did see 2 doctors about this, The first one Neurologist did talk of early signs of MS, but since there was no family history, I was told maybe it (the lesions) was due from headaches. The second Neurologist saw the disc at C3-C4 was protruding and figured the pain i was having was due from that and I had surgery I notice time later my right hand was starting to get weak and certain fingers don't have much feeling in them. Well it's almost 3 years and the last EMG ( had this month... have had 3 of them so far) saw nothing that would cause the numbness, How ever the most recent MRI (not on brain) shows things going on with the discs. Now I am seeing a new doctor who thinks it's signs of MS cause about 5 years ago i went thru a period of forgetting Like going to the store with my kids and walking out and forgetting how i got there and why I was there, and once i remembered I drove there I would tell my kids " lets play a game and see who can find moms car". I have been having dizzy spells. I have this thing ( hope i can explain it good) it's like a strobe light affect on the corner of my eyes. I see it during the day but it's more bothersome at night. I have had some trouble with speech but just thought it was a fluke thing. my arms feel heavy. I wear glasses and yet sometimes I still see blurryness while wearing them. My right arm and hand ( the hand in numb and i can't spread my fingers apart) seems to have gotten worse. It's actually painful typing all this. Now I am scared ..... cause I don't know what to expect with MS... I have 2 kids ages 10 & 12. How do I tell them. I don't have much family around, and the ones that are ...well they have their own thing. Scared I have to go thru this alone. I mean do I kiss life as i know it good bye... I am just so scared and don't know what to do.... If anyone can tell me how they got threw it when they were first DX.

hello, since you will get 100 views and no replies to this thread, I figured Id chime in. I do not know too much about MS, but my co worker has it. He got 3 opinions in 2000 and it was no doubt MS. He said that he had bad double vision for about 2 weeks, then it went away. I remember him telling me that he had to cover one eye just to be able to drive. And when he played basketball he kept falling down.

He was diagnosed like I said in 2000. He is still as sharp as a tack, and takes a shot (that he does himself) in his leg once a week, and other than fatigue the day of the shot, he lives a normal life. He is always in good spirits, and if you take care of MS and stay on top of it, from what I know you can live a long time :)

Take care

 Hello Donnamaria. You have come to the right place. Even if it is just to talk to people who understand what you are going through. There are people here who have been diagnosed and those who have not, but all understand.
MS is different for everyone, some have the same symptom and some have completely different ones. There are also different types of MS. You could contact your local MS society and ask for some information, this may help you understand/Plus go on line and have a look for MS help.
Don't feel you are alone, there will always be someone here that know's how you are feeling here:) When you have your App, see if it is possible to take someone with you, write things down that you would like to ask. In the meantime, just take one day at a time, and try not to worry.
Stay in touch with us.
