Is it safe to dye your hair while trying to conceive? I dyed my hair yesterday and I should be ovulating in the next couple of days. I didn't want to do it after ovulation. Will this do any harm? I am not pregnant yet so I can't see it doing anything but if a little got absorbed into the bloodstream would it make any difference? I rinsed it out well and then I took a bath and washed it again and there was still a little dye left and got in the bath water which I promptly emptied and filled again. I am a worrier and tend to overanalyze everything. I don't want to waste this cycle as every month counts at 36 yrs old.

:) Calm down. You are completely fine. I am a cosmetologist and so I know these things. You can even dye you hair while you are preg, so you are totally fine! The only suggestion they make for preg is NOT to get a perm. Good luck and hope you get your BFP!

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and I asked my doctor about it last week and she said that I can highlight my hair now and that it won't harm the baby so you're perfectly fine to do it while ttc.

Thanks for the reassurance girls. I guess I worry too much. I don't take any meds or anything ever so I have been focusing my thoughts on other things as I have been reading that heavy fumes are not good so that's why I was worrying.

Good question! I was wondering this, too. I really want to get my hair dyed tomorrow, but I am 6DPO, so I didn't know if that would be good or not. Also, I have short hair and use a lot of hair spray to make it stay. I'm worried about that fumes from the hairspray? Anyone have any thoughts on that?
