Hello! I was wondering what people's experiences have been with getting pregnant after stopping birth control. I had a baby in April and at first, we decided to wait to ttc a second baby so I went on Nuvaring. Well, we decided to NOT wait and I went off Nuvaring, so I was only on it for 3 months. But, I haven't gotten my period yet and I've taken 3 pregnancy tests and they've been negative. I'm guessing my body is just regulating? Thing is, I've gone on and off bc in the past and I've never been late like this. Any ideas?

I would seriously guess it is from the ring. Although, some people get that from getting of the BCP. As soon as I got off from the pill for my DD, I got preg. We were trying, but expected it to take MUCH longer. Anyway, this time I got off the pill and it has been 5 cycles. So...I think it depends on a lot of things. Doctor's don't assume anything is wrong until you haven't had a AF for 60 days. So, unfortunately, you should wait until you have missed 2 cycles to get any help. That is how it is here, anyway. But, you could check with your doc. Wouldn't hurt. But, I would guess that your hormones just need some adjustment. Plus, you had a baby not too long ago. Those wacky hormones of pregnancy are still in you too. Good luck! Hope this helped. :)

I wouldn't worry I was using the nuvaring from nov 2005 till may 2005 (and other bcp for 5 years before that) when I got off I was messed up for a while (i'm still not sure if i'm "normal) I had a 21 day cycle a 34 day cycle then a 60 something day cycle, then back to 33 and now i'm thinking she is late but i'm trying to wait it out. Just give it some time I would wait until you have had a normal cycle or two to start trying if you don't want to make yourself bonkers waiting for the 'right time to test'
