View Full Version : Lap next week

Hi Everyone

I'm scheduled to have a lap performed by my RE next Wednesday (11/8), and I'm starting to get nervous. I only have one tube, which is blocked, so the reason for the surgery is to go in and try to unblock my tube.

I'm really only a little worried about complications. I have faith in my dr. I'm just scared the surgery won't work and he will tell me my only option is IVF.

Please keep me in your prayers this week and send me some positive vibes. I could use them!!

Holly,
You are always in my prayers -- and I'll say extra ones for you this week and next for a really good result on your lap!!! Will they know immediately whether or not the surgery is successful?

Thanks Cubed :)
It's nice to know people out there care :D .
It seems the closer the date of the surgery gets, the more nervous I get. I don't think I was this nervous with my other one, but the stakes are much higher this time around. I'm almost certain they will have the results immediately...Of course, I will be under sedation, but the dr will be able to talk to my BF and my mom. I hope they have good news for me when I wake up  .

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement - it means so much to me. :D :D

I have been praying fervently about this surgery - and I usually don't pray for myself - for some reason I feel guilty asking God for things for myself when I know I do not lead the life He would want me to lead. So I always reserve my prayers for somebody else, but this week I have been praying about the surgery. I don't know how I will handle it if I am told my tube can't be unblocked. Hopefully I won't have to...

Please keep the positive vibes coming and keep me in your prayers for a while.

Thanks again!

Holly, You are in my prayers, as well. I am going in for my lap next month on the 4th of December. I know what you mean about keeping prayers for others and only praying for yourself when it's absolutely necessary. You are deserving of prayers - none of us are perfect, none of us lead a life exactly how God would want us to, but we are all in His hands and He loves us just the same! I wish you the best of luck with your lap next week and I will keep you in my prayers. Please give us an update as soon as you can! We will be anxiously awaiting your news!

Thank you Ravae :D . I guess I know I am worthy of prayers, I just don't think I should be praying for myself...So, that's why I asked all of you to do it for me ;) . Is that cheating? (LOL)
Good luck with your lap too!!! Will it be diagnostic or will they be trying to fix something? I'm sorry, I can't remember if you posted that or not. My memory is not so great these days  .
Here's to successful procedures for the both of us with BFP's soon to follow :D :D .

Holly,
I, like you had a lap this summer. I just re-read my post and realized that it's not a lap that I am having this time, it's a regular "major" surgery. I am having endo removed, adhesions removed and an ovarian wedge, as my ovaries are 3X the size they are supposed to be. I will be in the hospital for 3-4 days and then not allowed to work (which I don't work, anyway) for 6 weeks. It will really limit my holiday shopping since the surgery is at the beginning of December. I will have to do internet and catalog shopping! But, I wish you the best of luck and you're right - here's to BFP's in the New Year for both of us!!!! I'm looking forward to a relaxing holiday season and I wish the same for you!

Wow, that's a bit different. I will pray for the best for you - I hope everything goes smoothly and this surgery turns out to be the last thing you need to make your dream come true  . I will be very anxious to hear the results of your surgery, so be sure to post as soon as you feel up to it. Too bad the hospitals don't provide internet service yet :jester: . Maybe we should request it!

Holly~
