Hi everybody
I am still farely new to this messaging board, but I have learned so much by reading people's responses/questions.
I had my 2nd IUI done on 10/26 and my RE told me I had to wait 15 days until I take a hpt. Well, I am just a little too anxious and want to test now!! I am on prometrium right now and so i know that can give a false positive. how many days can I wait before I test early, I have heard people testing as early as 10 days past IUI, so I am just curious what you lovely ladies might recommend. Two weeks is WAY TOO LONG to wait!!
Any help would be great!!!
Best of luck to all of you!!!

Sorry, it's me again! I have another question. I am feeling cramps in my lower abdomen in the early morning. Is this pms cramping, (like the dreading AF is coming) or med cramping, or have any of you had this as well and it's just nothing? Just Curious...any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Tabaya

Hi Tabaya,

I don't know the answers to your questions but I can tell you I am right there with you and am going crazy with the 2ww too! I had my first IUI on 10/25 and blood test isn't until 11/9 and it is driving me crazy.

I also have had slight cramping the last few days but it wasn't what my normal AF cramps feel like. Of course, this gets my hopes up that maybe I'm pregnant but then I remind myself that this is my first time on clomid and my first IUI so I don't know how I am suppose to feel. Isn't it so confusing?

Here's to the next week flying by and both of us getting BFP next week!

I'm in 2ww now also (2nd IUI 10-26). Both times they instructed to test 14 dpiui (the 9th this go around). I too am having cramping. I honestly don't remember if I did last time or not, but I think I did just a bit. It's hard for me too because I had a lot of cramping with my pg with my son. That was what made me go to the doc the last time (the cramping). Not sure what to tell you (normal vs not normal) but good god I want the 9th to hurry up and get here :) I'm on the progesterone too. I didn't realize that it could cause a false positive?? I hope not. If I see two lines it better be the real thing :) I tested a day early last time due to being anxious too. I told myself I wouldn't do that this time. (we'll see) Tons of dust to you ladies

Hi Blueyed,

I did BBT for a year but am not doing it now. My doctor had told me that an elavated tempurature from ovulation till you get your AF (about 2 weeks) is a sign that your cycle is correct. If your temp didn't go up or was lower after ovulation, it was a sign you might have an issue with your cycle. Mine always stayed up for that 2 weeks until my AF and then went back to normal. If your's is staying up past your normal amount of days that could be a good sign :)

Hope that helps. Tons of baby dust to you. I hope you get that BFP this time!

Hi Ladies!
Thanks for all of the responses. It's funny that you mentioned sitting at work and searching the internet for information....I do the same thing:dizzy: which i am not sure is a good thing or not. It just makes me stress more about it!!
I haven't done BBT at all. Neither of my doctors ever mentioned it and the more I think I should do, the more confused I get whether I think I'm pg or not!!
Here's to hoping the next week goes flying by for all of us!!
Good luck,
Tabaya

I don't track mine, but I've read that a consistant elevated temp could be a sign........Oh I hope so for you! Do you think tracking it really helps you? Maybe that's something I should do? What time of the day do you take it?

Ladies,
I hate to be the bearer of funky news but it takes approx. 7 days for a fertilized egg to get to the uterus for imbedding. So, you wouldn't have any symptoms or hcg (naturally) in your system to take a hpt this early. Even with all the meds we take, we basically have only been "chaparoned" by the doctors and our bodies still have to go through the natural 14 day course between O and AF.

From what I've read & been told, depending on the units of your HCG/trigger shot (either 5,000 or 10,000) it stays in your system for approx. 7 - 10 days. So, if you take a HPT too early, you will get a false positive if that's still in your system. Also, if you take it to early, and you are pg, you might still test neg because your body hasn't started producing enough hcg for the test to pick up. Thus, the miserably long 2 ww.

I'm not sure about the cramping. I've experienced little "twangs" and "tings" around the area of my ovaries but I think that's just them "calming down" after all the stimulation. Fortunately, no cramping so I can't help with that.

This was my 2nd - and my last IUI (test 11/12). I'm very grateful that I'm not going through this wait by myself and that there are wonderful and supportive ladies, like each of you, out there with me - that is what makes this so much easier for me.

About surfing the internet. I did that the last time for a few days and never really found any information that I hadn't been told or read on these boards. Most was just about the whys and hows of the procedure. I decided that was making me crazy so I stopped. These boards are my only IUI / Internet connection.

I'm praying we all get BFP this cycle !!! Baby Dust to All.

Ladies... I hope and pray you all get BFP's.

I know I had my 2nd IUI on 10/15 and my test date was 10/30. I wasn't pregnant. But my reason for posting this is I WANT for you all to wait the full 14 days. I did a hpt test on day 9 and it was a BFP, day 10 BFP, day 11 BFP, day 12, BFN then I waited the 2 more days and I took the blood test on the 15th day and sure enough it was negative. The reason it was showing positive was because the booster shot (HCG) was still in my system. So please wait so you don't get any false negatives or worse false positives like me. =)

tjjsrj-

I noted in your first post you said something about being on prometrium and that could give a false positive on HPT. I just wanted to let you know that HPT's test for HCG, not progesterone, so I believe your prometrium will not cause any type of false positive. HCG trigger shot can if it's not out of your system as Maxtech said, but prometrium should not cause that problem. I was on progesterone supplements also, and have never seen these interfere.

Having said that though, I totally agree with Maxtech. Even if you haven't taken an HCG trigger that may cause a false positive, I wouldn't do the HPT's if you can avoid it. If it's BFN, it's just sooooo depressing, that it ruins everything for me...but I know it's so hard not to test. Anyway, good luck to all.

PS--If I were in your shoes, I would also try to stick it out to the end of the 14 long, tortuous days. Testing early always ended up a disaster for me, no matter what the test said... It didn't end the agony of the 2ww, just complicated it even more...

I AM SO NERVOUS AND ANXIOUS. I ALSO AM SEARCHING THE WEB FOR ALL AND ANY INFO I CAN FIND OUT ON IUI SUCESS RATES AND CLOMID SUCESS RATES! IT REALLY DOES STRESS YOU OUT! I HOPE THAT EVERYONE GETS THEIR BFP THIS MONTH, WE ARE ALL OVER DUE FOR IT.

THEY ARE ABOVE AVERAGE IN QUANTITY (DONT REMEMBER THE #) AND IN QUALITY. HE SAID THEY HAVE "BIG HEADS" AND ARE FAST SWIMMERS. THE PROB WITH US WAS I WAS NOT AWARE I WAS NOT "O".
