It started with my middle finger on my right hand. I didn't see any bumps or anything on my finger, but one day I went to knock on a door. as soon as I did, pain shot all through my finger. days after my joint on my finger began to swell and become very painful to the touch. a week passed and it is still sore, faint red and swollen. Then i started to notice a small 'lump' on my pinky finger on my left hand. it looked like a callus or blister but did not hurt. today i accidently hit it on my desk and the same thing happened, pain shot throughout my finger, and the lump is still sore to the touch. it still looks like a blister, but its harder than a normal blister, feels almost like a bone. it cannot be popped. both are still very painful, even if i barely touch them. any ideas?

Hi~
Oh Wow! I am searching on here right now looking for this exact problem! I have a lump on my left pinky and everytime I touch it, it is very painful and if I accidently bump it, it gives me a very bad pain through out my finger and sometime lasts a few minutes. A couple of my other fingers(at the joint only) are starting to feel the exact same way. I am also having other joints bothering me, but not like my fingers, basically like bad arthritis. I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my back and in my shoulder. I went to the doctor the other day for my joints aching and he is thinking it is neuropathy within my fingers and possibly my diabetes. We kind of argued about it, because I disagree. He ran a bunch of blood work, but I have yet to hear back from him with the results. He did give me a card for a rheumatologist in the area that he recommends. I made the appt right away, but can not get in to see him until March 30th. Seems such along time to wait.

Have you seen a doctor? or is anyone else having the same pains?

Thanks Rain:angel:

Hi, I have just found this site and hope it will help me in the long term to "cope" with, and learn about R.A. This has come on very suddenly and I see the specialist next week. Agony... is one word I could use! I'm waking in the morning unable to bend my fingers, both in the left and right hand. Tingling on the tip of my middle finger this morning and the pain had kept me awake for a good part of the early A.M. This is scary..and depressing! I work full time, need to work full time! Anyone out there with ANY suggestions, information, a magic wand?
