View Full Version : Clomid and Hostile Cervical Mucus

Hi All,
Just started the clomid on Monday, and have done some research and found that clomid causes HCM in about a third of the patients that use it.

I was curious if anyone has had this problem and how it may be tested for.

TIA

Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. My RE recommended IUI due to that possibility to bypass the cervix and go straight for the uterus and shoot up the fallopian tubes. I don't know if you can test for it or not.

I've read that a post-coital test can be done to test for HCM, but my RE doesn't do them. Evidently there is a lot of debate in the RE community on these tests. I dunno. I had a problem with NO cervical mucus on clomid, let alone hostile or not. But lots of women have luck with clomid and have no ill effects. Good luck on your cycle--I will be wishing you a BFP!!

Thanks to all of you for your replies and well wishing. I think I am overthinking, so I am going to just relax and hope for the best.
