View Full Version : My Simple Story of Hope!

Hi to everyone here! I know the sadness and frustrations of trying to conceive and would like to share my simple story with you in case it can help someone!

I suffered with PMDD from age 12 on (when they didn't even call it PMS!), and after I got married, could never conceive. I was too scared to try any of the tests or invitro, etc. Always told God that if we were meant to have children, he'd have to take care of it since I was such a wuss!

Anyway, around the age of 34, the PMDD became so bad that a friend gave me an article in a magazine about doctors who prescribe natural progesterone capsules or suppositories. I found a doctor and pharmacy nearby listed in the article and went. After being on this for a couple of months I became pregnant, but didn't know it because I continued to spot a little and was told this could be from the progesterone causing lighter periods.
I took the capsules for around 6 months until my friend talked me in to buying a pregnancy test. Needless to say, it was positive!

My friend could never conceive, either, so I told her to fake PMS symptoms and go to this doctor - just do anything to get on the progesterone capsules! She did, and in 3 months she was pregnant and ecstatic! However, since she knew she was pregnant that soon, she became fearful the progesterone would damage her fetus and discontinued the pills. She sadly lost the pregnancy.

Later, my boss told me that when she was pregnant and had trouble with miscarriages, the doctor had her come in for weekly PROGESTERONE shots in the last stages of pregnancy to keep the fetus from being aborted!! He said it thickened the uterine lining for the fetus and would in no way harm the baby!

I'm not saying this will work for everyone, we know that's not true, but I just want you to know my story in case it can help someone conceive.

Keep the Faith,
Elaine

Thank you for sharing, Elaine :D . Any bit of added hope is most welcome. What happened with your friend? Was she able to get pregnant again and carry to term? I'd be interested if you would like to share.

Take care!

Hi, Holly!
My friend never went back on the Progesterone capsules because she became convinced they were what caused her to miscarry. I didn't try to persuade her otherwise, we all have our own journey to travel. It made me so sad for her that she wouldn't even consider trying again.

However, she and her husband have since traveled to Thailand three times and have three beautiful adopted Thai children! They are a beautiful family, and she feels this is what she was meant to do in her life.

You take care,

Elaine

That is still a happy ending :D :D . It is sad that she wasn't able to conceive again on her own, but at least she can experience all the joys (and non-joys ;) ) of being a parent and having a family. Maybe that was the path God made for her.

Thanks again for sharing!

Holly~
