hello, i have read alot lately that it is best to eat a few hours before excercising to get the maximum effect. my problem is that having two children under two years old i have a very tight schedule and the only time i can find to excercise is in the morning before the kids get up, but that means excercising as soon as i get up so cannot eat a few hours before hand. Is it best to try to fit excercising in at a different time or just carry on this way? as i excercise at home i do it immediatly after i get up. thankyou very much to anyone who trys to help me, i greatly appreciate it.

I totally understand. I myself have to workout first thing in the morning. No, I don't eat. I may grab a cup of coffee first. If I ate before I'd have to eat at 3am!
I just make sure that I drink something before I workout, afterall, we don't drink while sleeping. And after I'm done, I eat a decent meal ie: oatmeal made with ff milk and fruit, eggs over easy with salsa and whole wheat toast, slimfast shake and pb toast. I make sure that I eat a good midmorning snack, because even though you ate a great breakfast, your workout burned that breakfast quick, so you'll need to refuel.

The previous evening's meal will also help contribute to the morning workout. Make sure you have a complete and balanced dinner or evening snack as it will help provide fuel and repair materials for the morning challenge. Your body refuels and repairs itself 24/7, so making sure that your whole day is as balanced as possible will contribute to the cause. Also, don't get discouraged when life/kids step in and demand priority. Nothing works perfectly, so just commit to doing your best. It's all part of the process! Have fun!

I think whatever time works for you is the best time.I workout as soon as I get up in morning before eating or drinking anything.Just make it a habit like brushing your teeth or bathing.
