Hi everyone, well I'm sorry that I usually only write to ask questions and don't often reply to other people's, though I'd be happy to but since I've been trying to recover for almost nine months http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif and sometimes there are stuff that makes me want to go back. Well now I've been doing pretty well lately, until this week, I just got to a point that after dealing with 2 years of anorexia and then hearing people telling me how "healthy and pretty" I look I just can't take it, not one more of those comments, so they have pretty much made me go back to weighing myself at all times, and just back to being extremely conscious of everything I eat, I mean that never went away but still at times I did block all those thoughts up. Well considering what the scale tells me is extremely important to me, right now instead of doing spinning like I used to do, my doctor told me to do some light weight lifting, the thing is I've heard that with the weight lfting the muscle you make makes you weigh more. Now I know that you might LOOK thinner but if I see bigger numbers on the scale I'm afraid that that will make me go back in my recovery, so I was just wondering if anyone that weight lifts a little saw a significant increase in their weight. Please and feedbacks will be more than welcome. Thank you.
God Bless y'all

I DID THE SAME THING WHEN I WAS WORKING OUT. I HATED THAT WHEN I STARTED WEIGHT LIFTING, THE NUMBERS ON THE SCALE WENT UP. BUT YOU NEED TO REMEMBER THAT THIS IS PART OF "HEALTHY THINKING!" THOSE NUMBERS ARE UP BECAUSE YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING GREAT FOR YOUR BODY BY PROVIDING MUSCLE MASS WHICH IS SO IMPORTANT ALL THROUH-OUT YOUR LIFE. STAY FOCUSED ON HOW HEALTHY YOU ARE AND ALL THE GOOD THINGS YOU ARE DOING FOR YOUR BODY AND DO YOUR BEST TO STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE!

when i started trying to work out a few years ago i put on weight and i felt like i was going backwards. but the woman who wrote above me is rigt. unfortunately you have to use mind over matter, and not let the matter win. i wish i could say that it always worked for me, but hey i'm still trying x

Hi, thanks for replying you two, it helps to know that you understand what I mean, so I'll try to not think about the scale as much and just try to do what's right. Once again thanks so much. Take care and God bless.

glad to see your thinking positively. remember the scales rae not your friend! if you can try not use them, ut them away for a couple of weeks! sounds reallt hard but have a go and just concentrate on getting fit. start judging things by how you FEEL IN YOURSELF! not by the numbers
keep in touch
