Well, after 18 months of trying for #2, my second beta was confirmed today- I’m doubling every 32 hours so it looks good. I just wanted to stop by and thank those who answered my questions during my first trip through infertility, its great to have the support. Ironically, I was on a break month so I wasn’t actually being treated with anything. I guess you could say a brief brush with infertility scared my ovaries into performing! It was two months after the HSG, so I guess it could be more ancedotal evidence on that helping???

Anyway, in case it helps anyone else, I think looking back at all the data, my issue was this: I don’t think I ovulated every month. The months I DID ovulate it was between CD 20 and 26 based on BBTs (even on Clomid my earliest ovulation was CD 20). And my luteal phase was only 5-9 days long in the months I didn’t conceive, even while on progesterone. So when I did analysis to see if I was BDing around the time of ovulation, I assumed luteal phase was 14 days so I assumed I was BD in the target range (and a LOT- like 10-14 times a month) but no luck. In retrospect, my luteal phase wasn’t normal and by that late in my cycle, desire had generally dried up and there wasn’t a lot of action- even though, it was oddly enough, when I was apparently most fertile. So, I guess, for the months I ovulated I just wasn’t BDing long enough. So low tech solution, but also fyi my CM and ovulation microscope didn’t agree with my ovulation date this time so I don’t know what to say on those methods as foolproof either. Im just glad I can stop constantly trying to seduce my husband of 10 years, that wasnt easy!

Good luck to everyone still trying.

Wow, how wonderful that you got your BFP...and even in a month you weren't really trying! I know 2 other women that same thing happened to. Congratulations, and have a healthy nine months! :)
