Hello,

I am a 23 yr old male who has been doing this stuff since about age 5 or so I have done the medical route in the last couple yrs and even tried a couple shrinks. I find myself disillusioned with these forms of treatment since they have not been successful for more than a couple months and in some cases caused me damage. Has anyone come across some form of self help method that a person can use? For me it is not a weight issue it is a stress one. Any signifcant stress causes me to not be able to keep food down until the stressor is gone... anyway any help with alternate methods would be much appreciated.

http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif Welcome!

I don't know of any self-help methods but I do know of a lot books that have helped me out on my own. Making Peace with Food by Susan Kano is a wonderful self help book. It helps you explore whats really going on and it's amazing! You might want to go to the local bookstore or library and see what you can find. You'd be amazed about how books they have that can really help in recovery. Good luck!
