i need help, im getting really bad anxiety over this. for almost a year now there have been bumps in the back of my throat. my tonsils are red and a little inflammed, there are small bumps all over my soft pallet, and now there are small bumps on the tip of my tongue taht come and go. i've seen 5 doctors and they all claim they can't see the bumps in the back of my throat which is weird because i can see them clearly in the mirror. i finally got my dentist to notice that my tonsils are swollen. i have a sore throat off and on but not a regular one, its more like a constant ache. i just really need some heads up on this. im bugging out. any help or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks guys!!!!

A few of my family members have something similar to this... certian spicy or highly acidic foods cause an ulcer response on the soft pallet, inside of the cheeks, occasionally gums... inflammation of taste buds and inflammation of tonsils. This is a side effect of a sensitivity or allergy to certain foods. Mine occurs when I eat strawberries or certain varieties of tomatos. Sister-in-law tomatos and onions... We all have a multitude of allergies. This type of effect can be likened to oral hives.

I am not sure if you have allergies, but you can be born with allergies or develope them later in life. Try taking some OTC Benedryl or claritin. If 48-72 hours clears you up.. duration treatment is necessary the anti-histamines must reach certian levels in your blood for optimum efficiency and treatment.. then you might want to consult an allergist for testing, if you haven't already.

Alternative there are mild virus that can cause the oral hive response as well, rinse your mouth with oral peroxide and baking soda... to speed recovery. Taste buds can get clog and thus inflammed, just like pores on your skin get clogged and form acne.

These are the reasons and explainations give to me and my family for similarly described problems. All of which are non-lethal, but truely annoying.

Best of luck.
MG
