Hi, went the doctors about 3 weeks ago with a suspected infection of an airway because i was coughing up dark coloured mucus. Anyway, i took one set of 7 day antibiotics, and then had more for a different cause and it all seemed to have gone anyway and i cough now and then mostly when the temperature dramatically changes.
Yet, the sore throat has persisted. Its whenever i swallow the muscles are sore and it permo feels like i have a hair or something caught at the top (which wont go down!!)
my throat feels kinda dry too, like i havent had a drink in ages

can anyone relate or know what type of problem it might be? virual im hoping...

any help/advice would be wonderful!
thanks

I can relate, but I don't have an answer. I have had a sore throat for almost 2 weeks now. I believe it's a cold, because I've had coughing, congestion, headache, etc... Most of my symptoms are gone, except for this dryness/soreness in my throat when I swallow. It's quite uncomfortable. I usually have sore throats several times a year, but they never last this long. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to make it go away. I drink tea several times a day, I've used salt water, throat drops, and it's still here.

Somebody told me that he gargles whith hydroen peroxyde. I have been having this cough that doesn't seem to go away and I gargle with one part 3% hydrogen peroxyde and three parts water and that helps a lot.
