To All Bulimics:
I cannot stress this enough!
Besides ALL the hellish things bulimia does
to your teeth, heart, ect. I just learned
something today that really freaked me out!
My mother has esophageal cancer & one factor the
doc. took in account is that she used to be
bulimic! 20 years of throwing up stomach acid
can do ALOT of damage to your esophagus(food pipe)
Sadly, it is inoperable & she has to go thru
radation, chemo & a feeding tube(she cannt swallow-
tumor is too massive!!)
Anyone even THINKING about throwing up should think
about choking & NOT BEING ABLE TO EAT AT ALL!!
This has been the most stressful week of my life(I'm
an only child & my mother is 60).

First, let me offer my condolences. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. That is awful awful news, and I'm sure, very difficult to handle. I wish you all the best, and I'm sending good thoughts and warm wishes your way. I'll keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers.

Also, thank you for sharing your story with the rest of us. Sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we start to believe that the effects of eating disorders "happen to THEM not ME." Your post is a reminder that the pain and physical damage caused to your body is REAL and difficult.
