Hey

As far as I know, there is'nt a pill for OCD specifically. Both depression and OCD have similar biochemical causes, even though they manifest themselves differently, which is why antidepressants are effective for both.

The typical OCD medications there are dont change personality, so I wouldnt worry. Gone are the days of doped up zombified OCD patients, but I can understand your concerns. There are alternatives to medication, such as therapy and dietary supplements. It may be best to talk to your doctor.

The truth is, you ARE anxious, but not in the "traditional" way most people think of anxiety. You may not be having panic attacks, or feeling nervous, or worrying intensely, but OCD operates on an underlying anxiety problem in the brain that is physiological in nature.
