Hello.. I'm having surgery tuesday on my neck to remove a lymph node so they can biopsy it .. the doc said there is a nerve in my neck that effects the lower lip near by and that it could be possible to lose feeling and movement in my lower lip... my question i guess is has anyone had any type of damage like that and how long till it corrected if it did at all???
please let me know ... i am aware that there is risk for all types of surgery but thoughts are appreciated
Hi Mysti
I had a similar thing - I was told I could lose the use of my right arm - but everything turned out OK
They have to cover their own backs by letting you know what COULD go wrong, not necessarily what will.
I know it's not exactly the question you asked as I had no damage, only the threat, but I hope this helps

My ENT cut in the fold of my neck. I can't even see the scar hardly any more
Mine too - it just looks like a natural crease in my neck!!!
