After liver biopsy where I was told, "Its probably benign" I have had alot of questions. I live in a city of 125,000+. There is no Dr. here who can answer liver questions. While awaiting further pathology I have been told, "some features are consistent with focal nodular hyperplasia.
Can someone with knowledge tell me if a liver and/or colon cleanse will help or hinder my condition. Didn't even know I had a condition until I underwent an ultra sound to clear me as an organ donor. Since biopsy though, I've had intermittent and very occasional stabbing pain from the area of my liver.
Would appreciate an educated answer on the cleanse as it takes a while and I'd like to get started.

Hi there,
I find it odd that after a biopsy they use the word "probably"...it should be definetely this or that. Anyhow, I also have focal nodular hyperplasia and my understanding is it is like a tumor with a bunch of vessels. My guess would be that a liver cleanse would neither help nor hurt it. But that's just my guess. I am going to try the fat flush diet which which detoxifies the liver, but I am just doing it for the other health benefits such as weight loss, lower cholesterol etc. Pain could be from the biopsy. What further diagnostic tests are they doing? The most accurate you can get is the biopsy. Ask for a copy of your records. Sorry I can't be of more help and good luck!
