My mom's oncologist told her the day we met him that at stage IV he could not offer her a cure but could offer her palliative care and prolong her life at the best possible quality. It does not mean you give up and do not treat problems that come up such as pneumonia, pleural effusions etc it just means your focus is different. JanMarie |
