View Full Version : I can feel it in my upper teeth when I walk

I have had sinus congestion and dulled hearing with a suspected blocked eustacian tube in the left ear for about 2 months now. I don't like the dulled hearing and the awareness of the cattarh in my head. It doesn't come out of my nose so much now, but I can still feel it there, and it makes me want to cough sometimes.

But I have noticed a few things since I have had this dulled hearing.

When I walk with leather soled shoes on the pavement ('sidewalk' in US terms), I can feel it in my upper teeth. As I put a foot down, it feels like something lightly tapping my upper teeth. If I try to jump, I struggle to 'spring' off the ground (I like dancing, so I do these things sometimes). If I try to jump now, I use my arms to help, and then feel it in my upper arms. I can't jump like I could before.

So it seems to me that whatever is affecting my sinuses and hearing is also affecting my bones and muscles in other parts of my body.

Does anyone know anything about this?

From personal experience, this is normal given the right conditions. In my opinion it seems like you have a real rip roaring sinus infection, possibly impacted. When the large maxillary sinuses get infected and extremely full of infected mucus. This expansion places pressure on the nerves in the jaw, and ears. Causing ear pain and jaw pain. Anyway this happened to me frequently (7-9 times a year)... every time I got an impacted sinus infection. I just had surgery for my chronic sinusitus 21 days ago. I am hoping I have had the last of mine.

Cure? Long term anti-biotics, decongestants, nasal irrigation, and anti-histamines.

If a sinus infection is not treated it can cause degradation of the sinus cavities and facial bones. Please go to your MD and get some medicine.

Best of luck.

Sincerely,
MG

Thanks for the reply. What does 'possibly impacted' mean?

An impacted sinus infection is just a term to explain the degree of infection. When a sinus infection is impacted it is as bad as it gets, i.e. when the infected mucus in your sinuses can not drain due to some blockage (structural or infection based), but the mucus continues to accumulate... increasiung sinus pressure and pain. Eventually an impacted sinus infection reaches such a degree that it has no where else to go and begins to eat away at the sinus cavities, causing degradation of the sinus cavities themselves as well as increased pressure on the facial nerves... hence teeth, jaw and ear pain. So get to your general practicioner and gets some anti-biotics... at least 21 days worth. You have to get it all out, if any remains, it will come back stronger than before..

Sincerely,
MG

I don't have pain in the teeth, jaw or ears. I DO have a sensation in my upper jaw when I walk with hard-soled shoes. I DO feel it in my arms when I cough. I DO find it harder to jump than before.

I sense some mucus still there, but not as much as before. The left ear is blocked, I believe it's the eustacian tube.

I've seen my doctor several times about this, he's now referred me to an ENT specialist, and I have a (free NHS) appointment on 9th January. I'd like to see someone before that though (it may mean paying).

So I don't think what I have is as bad as what you suggest. But I am concerned about it, and would love to find out more about what I have, and fix it.
