Hi
I have had quite a few severe bouts of tonsilitus in my recent life and the Doctors have agreed to take them out (i'm 20). However in the last two months or so I seem to have a permanant case of tonsilitus. My tonsils seem to be permanatly swollen (they are huge) and have about five visable quite large holes in them. I get new white patches which are painful and appear on average every two or three days now. Sometimes they fall out and they hurt alot and they are huge lumps of white/yellow...stuff. Sometimes accompinied with blood and blackish liquid
Is this normal? Can I do anything to stop these abcess things appearing? Or do I just put up with them untill I have my tonsils out in about six months.

I had my tonsils out after several years of problems as did my daughter. What you are discribing IS NOT normal. I've never even heard of such a thing. I'd see a doctor right away.

YIKES

I had the same thing right before I got mine taken out, what you are experiancing is a very bad case of infection and your body trying to fight it off. I dont know it your talking about white tonsil stone? those are cottage cheese looking things that are foul smelling, or actual white patches of flesh that is dying skin. The black stuff is actually blood. If you are experiancing a metal taste in your mouth that is blood. My tonsils were so huge that I had very large crater, that I actually used to take Q-Tips and try to clean my craters out with peroxide.. sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt but mine used to get so swollen that they would break apart and a new tonsil would be born.. Im happy I got them out but it is a very painful procedure.

I came here to ask a similar question but my case isn't nearly so bad. I have one of those cottage cheese looking things on my left (tonsil?) I think. It smells bad and I can't reach it to get it all off, but a bit came off when I tried to get it with my nail. I thought it was food or mucus (that's what a doctor tols me once when I was very young).

How do I get rid of it???

You have Tonsil liths or Tonsil Stones, research them @ Google! They are caused by left over food debris and bacteria that form in your tonsil pockets. You can actually use a finger and push on them and they will come out. To get "rid" of them you need a Tonsillectomy.
