Besides magnesium, what is best to take for asthma. I'm under a dr's care but would like natural remedies instead.

Thanks,

Cowspots..Most asthma is caused by Inflammation and Histamine so these supplements might help.Vitamin-C with Bioflavanoids and Quercetin are very good at clamping down on Histamine.

As for inflammation the Omega-3 fatty acids (fish/flax oil) and Evening Primrose oil is good for that. Also Tumeric and Ginger spices are very good for inflammation..

I take astragalus for my allergies because that is what causes my asthma and then I take oregano oil for the asthma itself. Oregano oil keeps the congestion out of my chest and opens up my airways. Hope this helps! Rachel

RE Asthma,

I have taken many many supplements over the years. Some have helped and some have worsend my breathing for those 4 -6 hours or so. I hesitate to recommend anything for fear you may react and react badly as I have.

I have gasped for breath!!!! many many times and been hospitalized with asthma. Anything can set it off and make it worse.

But that all being said my old stand bys are magnesium, and drink black tea and lots of it.

I also have used quercitin but didn't notice much. MSM has helped me alot in large does. Ex. 6 pills per day.
