Hi I iam new here need some feed back
In sept i had really bad back pain went the er they found an 8mm stone. Try and pass it on my own but couldnt. had the damn thing for almost 2mos got it lasered out last thurs. i lost a lot of weight cause i haven't been eating right somedays not at all due the pain of the stone. When I was at the ER they gave me a ct scan and found subcentimeter messenteric lymp nodes and a cluster of nodes in the lower quandrant. My dr wants me to get blood work done and a chest x-ray an chest ct scan.
I have been scared to death!!!!!!!!!! not sleeping and loss of appetite. Been doing alot of research on the net and points lymphoma
Just cause they came up on the origianl ct scan does this mean i have lymphoma or hodskins or an infection?
Anyone going thru this?

The lymph nodes can be reactive to the kidney stone problem. Different people have different sized lymph nodes and so size is not a good way to tell if there is anything wrong. I don't think the blood work is going to tell them much more, but the definitive answer usually comes from a biopsy. Also the doctors do not always want to treat a suspected lymphoma and decide to see if the body can deal with the problem. So don't get too stressed out because that could make the lymph nodes swell without any other reason being present.

I hope your right but the c word is so scary even thogh from what i read lymphoma is fairly treatable

It is much too soon to say what the problem is. I am wondering if the radiologist who read the scan suggested lymphoma. That is what happened in my case and it was confirmed by biopsy. However, they seemed pretty sure from the scan. If they have not suggested that, in your case, it might not look like lymphoma to them. Try not to worry. Unfortunately, blood tests might not reveal any problem. As Merimac says, with the problems you have been having with the kidney stones, the lymph nodes may just be reactive. They do not seem to be very large. Keep us posted.

I have the CT report in front of me
It says:
The abdominal small bowel loops are remarkeble. there is no free air or free fluid. there are sevralsubcentimeter mesenteric lymp nodes and a cluster of nodes the right lower quanrant
This was taken on 9/29
you guys have problems with lymp nodes?

also the second page states several mesenteric lymp nodes , which are a nonspecific finding
