I'm alway having to clear my throat from this drainage...I say all the time...it just seems like all the time but it will be for a few hours on and off during the day. Seems worse during the morning...well anyway...beside the point...what will help to get rid of that drainage? I buy Sudafed...I have bought the new kind and have gone to the pharmacy and gotten the old kind. Neither stops the drainage. What else can I try? OTC that is!

Yes, I still have my tonsils...it's just so annoying that constantly needing to clear my throat. It's not that tickling feeling...it's just drainage.

Try an anti-histamine in conjunction with the decongestant. Claritin-D is a good over the counter brand and it combines the anti-histamine with the decongestant. The pills should also be every 12 hours. Decongestants, try and dry up present drainage, but they do not stop the production of more mucus. To stop the mucus production you need and anti-histamine, if the source is allergy related. For irritant/pollution related mucus generation steriodal nasal sprays such as flonase/nasonex/nasocort(sp) can also help.

That is about all I can think of to help with PND.

Sincerely,
MG
