Hi all I have recently been suffering from leg cramps and numbness. the numbness has gone now Ihave legs cramps and they are sore. Especially at the back of my thigh muscles and sometimes the calf muscles. My rear end muscles also hurt sometimes. Do any of you also get that and what do you do too get rid of them.

Is this from anxiety, meds or meds withdrawal? Magnesium is good for cramps.

Hi Cinderella I chnage my dose of meds as I need them, maybe this is the case not to sure. I went to see my neurologist yesterday and she is not concerned and said that it can happen when you have anxiety, she is sending me for a MRI in January as she is going away. I take magnesium but it makes me feel sleepy, do not know if that is the case with you. Have a great day.

Nades,

I have been taking Potassium for muscle cramps since I was in my teens. I was a majorette and would wake up from "charley horses" every other night until my doc told me to take potassium and drink lots of water. I have been pain free as long as I take one every night.
It has also helped my back muscle cramps as well.
Just make sure you don't get any black tarry stools while on potassium since too much can cause GI issues.
My boyfriend didn't believe that potassium works for leg cramps and pain, but months later while taking one every night, he is a sworn believer also.
Potassium shouldn't have any side effects like magnesium does.

good luck,
lyl

Thanks I will give that a try. I currently take 1000mg vitamin c and garlic tabs as well as magnesium. I also eat 2 bananas a day which I know arehigh in potassium.
