View Full Version : HUGE lung cancer treatment BREAKTHROUGH...MUST READ!

I beleive it was .net, not .com........www.tomoradiation.net

there are not very many places in the US that has one. When CNN did their peice on it, less than 12 places in the country had one. The unveiling was not that long ago.

They are giving lung cancer patients a "cure" instead of treatment. This is worth every single solitary person investigating. If you scroll down to the bottom of a topic, hit "other news" and you can click on a CNN video that will blow your mind. The radiation is higher doses in a smaller targeted area while being assisted by a live CT scan at the same time, opposed to smaller doses of radiation in a wider area. This is a HUGE BREAKTRHROUGH people! HUGE!

My moms oncologist told her about it tonight, and we are anxiously waiting for the OK to go ahead with it. We will know on the 30th!

I should have checked the websight earlier, but just had the opportunity!

Let me know what you all think......

Janmarie, might be worth finding out about this with moms liver. why not? the man in the video was 75 or 85 years old!

God Bless you all...........

My moms oncologist will probably start my mom on tomo therapy in december. This is a must see webpage. www.tomotherapy.net

CNN did a peice on this, and they have it on tomo's webpage. It is worth reading and watching.

I haven't had anybody respond to this yet. Surprised? I know there are not many tomo machines in the US, but they are popping up quickly and there is a map on the webpage...........

angelmama39,
I did read about it. My friend is starting treatments for lung cancer and I will definitely mention it to her. There is one in Charlottesville VA which is only about 3 hours or so from us. Do you know what it is that's so different about it?

Hi, yes, go to www.tomotherapy.net

the CNN clip can explain the difference, however, in a nutshell........Itypical radiation delivers low dose radiation to a wide area, therefore, any higher dose could kill necessary cells surrounding the tumor. With Tomo, they use increasingly higher radiation to a very small targeted area guided by a live CT scan simotaniously......................

I can't wait! Target therapy is my moms miracle!
