Hi everyone
im a healthy 22 male, i have had sore throat for a while and doc has been giving me anti-biotics, today he felt my nodes on neck and said they are swollon. He said if anti-biotics dont help this this time then he will do x-ray then biopsy... My question is i have no symptoms - when i touch them they hurt and a sore throat, having no other symptoms could it still be lymphoma. I have read symptoms of lymphoma include fevers, night sweats, fatigue etc. I have none of them except swollon sore nodes and sore throat. Could it still be lymphoma. ANY advice would be of great help as i am starting to really worry...
Thanks

One more thing- upper left pec has like a bony structure i can palpate and hurts after a chest work out, could it be a node...

Hi Mr Muscle

I didnt have any symptoms but I didn't have a sore throat and my lumps didn't hurt (except when drunk alcohol or I had prodded and poked them!!!)

In my opinion your best bet is to go for the tests. They will either put your mind at rest or, if it turns out to be something - you can get treatment and get well again!!!

It's not the end of the world if it turns out to be something - I'm living proof of that.

Hope that helps

Good luck and take care

Thanks fot that Ails
I went to another doc for a second opinion and he thinks its just my neck muscles that could be swollon. Not sure what to think now, might go for a 3rd opinion....

Hey Mr Muscle

Sorry, didn't mean to worry you - was trying to do opposite

Go with your gut instinct. You know your own body and how training may affect you.

In my experience the fact that your nodes hurt is good - mine were "painless swellings"

Take Care and Good luck with whatever you decide!!

I had a mononucleosis virus, which affected my liver, spleen and lymph nodes, very similar to glandular fever. lymph nodes are there to fight infection in the body and can often be swollen, keep pushing your gp to find out what is causing this. I have just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer after having been told that i was phsycological from a consultant!
