Hi All,

I know all about the links between street drugs and alcohol and BP; I have used both...

I am also a smoker, although since majorly cutting back on the alcohol (2 glasses of wine and 1 long vodka pomegranate in 4 weeks when I was used to that a night) I also smoke a lot less - 10-12 / day not 20.

Who else smokes - normal ciggies I mean!
I really want to give them up but just don't seem to be able to at the moment and tbh with everything else that is going on just now I don't want to add to the burden. The pdoc told me one thing at a time too.

Just wondered if the addiction tendencies are for smoking too?

Well I also smoke but it is hit and miss. I tell myself that I dont need them and I am fine. I quit for five years but here I go again. I personally think that smoking is not a issue its the drinking and if you are anything like me you drink to get away. I tried cutting back and it always goes back to where it started from drinking for no reason and drinking till you dont remember. Smoking is harmful but take step by step. smoking does not alter the way you think or your moods.

cheers Dut, I know it doesn't alter my moods but I really worry about the big C. Ah well, step by step....
