AmbitionBaby 11-08-2006, 07:58 PM Im wondering what's the best supplement to take. Any help would be great :). Im looking to gain muscle etc. Sponsor Naxis 11-08-2006, 08:01 PM Way too general. "etc" covers a lot of ground. chancer 11-08-2006, 08:46 PM I take creatine from time to time. It puts water in your muscles and gives you energy to lift heavy longer. Protien is the best thing you can take/eat imediately after a workout. To gain muscle mass you need to eat right, sleep right, and lift heavy. If one of these factors are off, you wont see as great results. Think of your body like a car, everything needs to be working to run smoothly. Supplements are secondary and are useless without proper weight training. Willapp 11-09-2006, 11:03 AM Protein supplement is without doubt the most important supplement for gaining muscle mass. Whether you *need* this really depends on your diet. For good muscle mass gains you want between 0.8-1.0g of protein per pound of bodyweight, so if you weigh 150lbs, your daily protein intake should be 120-150 grams. However, taking this won't make you 'gain muscle' unless you're lifting weights - do you have a training program? How many times a week do you work out? Ps - don't rely purely on protein supplement for your protein intake - get as much of it through normal food as possible, and just boost this with the supplement as necessary. AmbitionBaby 11-09-2006, 03:46 PM Im 16 145 pounds. We start this Monday liftin 3days a week for football. Mondays, Wensdays and Fridays. Im the running back. I was just wondering what in your opinion is the best to buy. Naxis 11-09-2006, 05:35 PM Most supplements are pretty useless, but whey is probably your best bet. Get a lot of protein in your daily diet, but for the extra boost, shakes will help you build and maintain muscle. |
