Hi Folks!!!

PLEASE let me know if you have this problem.

Does everyone here remember Y2K and the caution and panic it caused?

I know that the "experts" say everyone should have enough supplies for each person in the home, for, at the very least, 3 days. Man oh man, did my OCD ever enjoy Y2K...

I do have the 3 day "kit" always. But, I am now freaking/obsessing regarding a large, country-wide disaster/attack. I have water, alcohol (medical), bandages, batteries, meds, etc.

Is there anyone out there who is having this problem also? Because I am obsessing over this, I am in the process of trying to buy mucho stuff in case of some catastrophe. I'm talking supplies for months.

A big problem regarding this is that I am on a very small disability income, and cannot afford to stock up with 6 months of supplies, but I feel like I must!!! It is getting close to "do I buy the supplies or do I buy my meds?".

I would love to connect with someone who has this emergency preparedness thing.

Hey sobs

I dont have the problem personally, but I do know this is pretty standard OCD fare. I chatted to someone over the net once who had this fear of natural disasters (especially volcanos), and would stock up on things "just in case".

The Y2K thing, I can imagine... my OCD doesnt focus on that sort of thing yet I was still worried enough anyway!

Are you under any sort of treatment for OCD?

Steve
