My Dad's PSA was over 700 at its highest. It is now down to 4. The doctor called it partial remission. Does anyone know anything about that? The doctors and nurses said they had never seen anyone as sick as he was go into partial remission. One doctor called it a miracle.

When my Dad was really sick, the chemo had no negative effects on him. Now that his PSA is down to 4.1, he has been feeling a little ill the last week. Could this be the chemo making him sick since he is now healthier than he was?

How many cycles of chemo has he had? What type of chemo? My fil has had 4 cycles of Taxotere and it is starting to get to him. Usually chemotherapy can have a cumulative effect and a lot of people start having side effects at a certain point in time. Also the doctors need to monitor for toxicity so any effects he is having needs to be reported when he sees the doctor again.

My Dad had another appointment yesterday. He got the results of a recent CT scan. The doctor said the scan showed no cancer in the lymph nodes. He is in remission. He had been taking chemo every 3 weeks since July. I think the name of the chemo was the one you mentioned, but I'm not sure. The doctor said his next chemo treatment would be different. The doctor said he thought 4 months ago my Dad would die, but now things have changed. It could come back at any time, but we are grateful for the extra time. God is good.
