I was 16 when I was diagnosed with CIN and had a leep done. Now I am 24 and they did a biopsy and everywhere there did the leep there are abnormal cells and he said they are also in the hole leading to my uterus. He said that it was dormant in me all these years. I have been reading on this and all my questions are not being answered. I don’t get my result until Monday.
If it is CIN and becomes dormant, can it come back cancer when it comes out of being dormant?
Did/Could I pass HPV to my two girls?

hi.
sorry to hear you are going through this again. as for your question, the CIN was removed with the procedure you had done. i think the doctor meant that what caused the CIN (HPV?)was dormat all those years. Because even though the dysplasia was removed, the virus that caused it can remain in you for quite a long time.
as for your daughters, how old are they? did your doctor suggest the HPV vaccine- guardisil- for them? i don't think you can pass hpv to them though.
i hope this all turns out okay for you. i had the leep done in august, and just had my 1st followup pap on monday. now i wait for the results.
good luck!

No, CIN can't go "dormant" but the cervix can heal itself and then CIN can re-develop again later.
