For the last four or five months I have had the sound of my heart thumping in my head, neck,or somewhere close enough to hear it.Its fairly constant but seems to slow down or almost cease when im at rest. When I get up some mornings its booming I can hear my heartbeat pounding and sometimes it last most the day this way or sometimes its only for a little while.I hear different volumes of it on different days and although I can usually not hear it when I put my fingers in my ears , I have had an ent tell me its PET..Where the tubes don't open and close like they should and thats why I have the sound of my pulse in my head.I also have tmj.I would tend to agree with him but at night I have a vein that I can feel behind my head that feels like its pushing up and down. The ENT checked me for tumors, and artery blockages and doesn't seem to be anything like that but It really worries me and some days I can hear my heartbeat just like I have a stethoscope on.The beat doesn't sound normal to me although I have been to two doctors neither of them thought there was a problem..Other than maybe stress.I don't want to be another misdiagnosis..Could they have overlooked something or does it sound like what they said and I shouldn't worry?

can you feel the thumping? this could be myoclonus a spasm of a muscle....
ents are worthless, they know nothing.....find a neurotoligist or otoligist....
