Went in for a Colposcopy and an ECC this past Friday because of an abnormal pap, but still negative for HPV. Doc said cervix looked good, no need for a biopsy of that. Did the ECC, very painful for me!! What could possible be wrong if my cervix looked good???

Ok I went through this same thing. They told me no HPV and that everything looked good. Honestly who can say what looks good??? Seriously, the only thing that can tell that is the pap. So, what ended up happening is that I ended up with cervical cancer. I just found out yesterday, mind you I had this pap over 10 years ago, but finally asked so that I could see it with my own eyes...endocerival(inside your cervix) Adenocarcinoma(glandular cancer) gadular cerivial cancer is 10% of cervical cancers. I had carincoma in situ. I said all that to say this...according to my diagnsis I should have cancer that spreads fast. I opted for a cone biopsy. I tested 6 weeks later for cells that were changing again so I opted for a hysterectomy. I am not trying to scare you, just be informed. I have recently been having abnormal paps, according to what I have read, he should have done radiation or chemo with glandular cancer. I have no idea why he did not. Find out what you have, via the pap results. The web is here to empower you, and so is this board. I now know via this board that I do not want radiation. I have read too many things that have gone wrong. Just be informed, do panic, and BE INFORMED! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! :0)

Whether it's good news or bad news, thanks so much for your reply. I'm supposed to have the results from the ECC this Friday and I promise to post as soon as humanly possible. I really have no clue as to what to expect from this type of test. Is it strictly for detecting cervical cancer?
So where are you now with your diagnosis and treatment? Is everything ok? I certainly hope so !

There may be nothing wrong. The Pap could have been wrong or it could have detected dysplasia that has since reverted to normal.
