Hello to all:
Well, I just went for my third EMG in a year. Everything is clear in the ulnar nerve, but I definitely have to go for a re-do of my carpal tunnel. has anyone had the carpal tunnel syrgery a second time. If so, was it successful?
Let me know if you have a chance.

bserchuk,
I had a second surgery on my left hand. They called that one an extended ct release. The ortho surgeon, who did first ct release, nicked the nerve, but I didn't find that out until second surgery. There was a lot of scar tissue too.
The hand surgeon, that did my second ct release, said he didn't think my hand would ever be 100%, and that it would be a year before I might notice any lasting improvement. I still have hypersensitivity and numbness in two fingers as well as web space between thumb and first finger, though not to the degree it was in 2005. I am also taking amitriptyline for nerve pain, so that might part of reason for improvement.

I laso had second surgery on right hand-called a revision. They put collagen around the nerve. It didn't work for me as last EMG showed carpal tunnel is still present in both hands. It feels worse now then before surgeries.
