Your Friend, Marilyn:wave: Sponsor kim4074 11-14-2006, 09:50 PM I'm watching it right now. Havent seen it in awhile though I thought he quit the vics they do seem very non chalant about it though. Thiswasyourlife 11-14-2006, 09:52 PM I watch every week and as far as I know, he hasnt stopped. kim4074 11-14-2006, 09:54 PM I thought a while back they did an episode where he was detoxing and very sick from w/d's who knows though I always try to see if I can diagnose the pt. lol. I'm such a dork. I kinda am half azz watching it tonight though. Thiswasyourlife 11-14-2006, 09:58 PM You may be right, I guess I didnt see that episode. I think he is weird in a neat way. I dont care for how they portray his addiction if thats what its is. The spin off on tonights episode was kinda like he takes all the pills for pain managment only. Doesnt enjoy them. kim4074 11-14-2006, 10:02 PM Oh yes of course he doesnt like the pills. Have you ever seen him on a talk show he is from england and has a very strong accent threw me off one time! I do like that show though thats the one show that I really got into I suprised its not canelled yet since that what happens to all the shows I like. kim4074 11-14-2006, 10:04 PM Well I'm off to bed now I hope I can sleep tonight seems lately when I lay down my mind starts going in a 100 directions!!! ARGH Have a great night. Kim MsMinn 11-15-2006, 01:10 AM I love this show, but it does sort of make me want to love/hate him at the same time. He does whatever he wants and gets away with it. I wonder...is he the way he is (detached, self-serving, arrogant...in a charming way of course:-) because of his addiction or because he was that way to begin with? Or did the addiction feed those parts of his personality? I don't know...but he does seem to need them for pain mgmt. He also doesn't really hide the fact that he takes them so often. Seems like most want to hide their addiction...myself included! Regarding past episodes..what about the time they "cured" his leg pain? Didn't he go off the vikes then? Love that show but probably not the best for someone still in anxiety stage of detox. Minn Thiswasyourlife 11-15-2006, 05:50 AM Minn, He did stop taking the vics when they cured his leg. Remember when it started hurting again he took a script pad out of the drawer? Thiswasyourlife 11-15-2006, 05:54 AM THis morning, Wednesday, the local news is doing a segment on House. Just caught the blurb. Will post after I watch it. Wonder what its all about, besides the pills. slipperyslope 11-15-2006, 10:55 AM That is my favorite show. Marilyn He is so crochety and nasty but in a funny way, I watch it every week and never miss one, I didn't care for last nights to much as it was kinda boring..... he is great though, his name is Hugh and he is english surpsingly enough, he has a strong accent and it amazes me he can speak so well without one.. he's amazing! Thiswasyourlife 11-15-2006, 06:45 PM I like the show too. There is just something about him. I think his dry humor is great. Still trying to figure out how and why his co workers *doctors* shun all the meds he takes. kenlake 11-15-2006, 09:04 PM Hi. I am new here. Yes, I watch House. I can relate very well to his addiction. I was addicted to perkodan or vicodan and valium for over 20 years. Two and a half years ago I tryed to get off of them through the use of marijuana and eventually ended up having a phycotic break. I funtioned well on the pills for years. Had my own real estate company. Was very sucessfull up until I had to quit. But I had to quit, my memory, concentration, and focus had vanashed after so many years of pills. I ended up divorced, bankrupt and living in detox and transitional housing for 2 years When I see House pop pills throughout the day, I am reminded of my days in the 1980s and 1990s. It is a great show. I am curious where the plot will go. PS. I have been drug free, clean and sober now for 29 months. I have been taking 30 m of prozac daily for 29 months. k slipperyslope 11-16-2006, 07:12 PM He's kinda sexy to............... :D |
