There was some discussion once on the acne board about some diet pills that were helping with acne. These tended to be 'carb blocking'
The have this xLA Sport at Dollar Tree right now and wonder if it's worth taking while it's available so cheap--45 capsules for $1.
Here are the ingredients:
Vitamin C 30mg 50%
Boron 10mcg 3%
Niacin 10mg 50%
R+ Alpha Lipoic Acid 50mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid 50mg
Proprietary Blend: 650mg
Garcinia cambogia extract, juniper berry, decaffinated green tea extract, red raspberry, conjugated linoleic acid acid, gamma linolenic acid, boron.
I already take R Lipoic Acid, a multi with high doses of C and Niacin, and drink green tea.
I wouldn't mind taking some diet pill that boosts metabolism or energy or blocks and absorbs carbs if anyone knows of a good one that isn't too expensive. I'm not interested in appetite suppressing.
I already take psyllium husk capsules before a meal if I remember, especially a bad, high carb meal or desert. But apparently the carb blocking diet pills tend to use bean fiber. Anyone know why that is?

Dont waste your money.
The carb blockers use bean fiber not because of the fiber, but because certain beans block the enzyme that breaks down starch into absorbable form.
Taking metamucil BEORE meals may lead to you feeling ful with less food, and help you feel satisifid for longer.

Well, fiber does a lot more than that. It increases the time it takes for glucose to hit the blood stream preventing spikes and lowering blood glucose levels. That's why complex carbs are good, simple carbs bad. That's why I take it.
I have no appetite issues. I'm only interested in energy and metabolism, and preventing blood sugar spikes.

Are you still taking this? Any luck?
Just curious on an update as there is really nothing in it that can HURT.
