hey i was wondering if its possible to inherit nail fungus? because my grandpa has it and so does my dad and all of his brothers and now i have it :mad: Ive been trying to get rid of it for a while now using Vicks and it has helped a little but not much where im happy. So I was wondering if i inherited it then maybe i wont be able to get rid of it. Could it be a lack of something in the body? any help would be appreciated, thanks!

No, it is not possible to inherit nail fungus, it is only possible to 'aquire' it from other family members. Fungal spores can live on any contaminated surface, such as shower floors, bathtubs and any type of soft or hard floor covering. The spores can live in dirt as well. If you are barefoot on the same surfaces as your father, the spores cna transfer from his feet to the floor, then to you.
Ask your father to treat his nails for the infection, or to wear socks instead of going barefoot and wear shower shoes in the bathroom. That, or you can do this to protect yourself.
