Help. I have been dealing with epilepsy, off and on since I was for. Now I am 22, and I just got dropped off my dad's insurance, right around the time my sezures escilated into grandmall seizures. So as I am being a guinea pig for drugs right now, My mind is really loopy, and I can hardly stay awake to right this, I think I should go on dissabiblty or something, I also need to get some health insurance, because I am having every test there is out there done to me, twice. So if anyone has any Idea how I can get this info, or what I should do, please let me know. Thank you sooooo much...

Hi - Sorry to hear about your seizures escalating. I went thru this several years ago with my son. Epilepsy is covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and you may be eligible for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits. Contact an attorney or law firm that specializes in social security disability claims(maybe your parents can help you locate the right help on this). Knowledgable legal help is essential to get thru the bureaucratic maze of applying for SSD. This is not an easy thing to do but well worth the effort. Typically you don't have to pay the attorney up front, as they take their pay from the initial SSD payment. Another very, very important thing: once you ahave been approved for SSD, you become eligible for Medicare, which will give you some medical coverage. I hope this is helpful. Good luck, jp
