I am on zonegram plus two other meds for partial complex--since I've started the zonegram, I get confused in the a.m.--does this happen to anyone else? It is hard to work. I am aware of my surroundings, but I just get confused.

Hi!
I've been taking Zonegran for over 3 months now and did experience some confusion at the beginning. When do you take the Z.? I take mine at night because my neuro says this decreases the drowsiness/confusion and other side effects. Almost all of the side effects I noticed have now gone away...but I am only taking Zonegran...no other meds. Hang in there and hopefully the confusion will slowly fade away as you get used to the medicine.

Thank you so much for your help. I'm so scared. It is really tough. I take mine at night also since I have the seizures in the a.m. I hope this quits. I'm really upset. Do you still have seizures? I'm on two other meds beside the zonegran. Thank you for help. I was really confused today. I knew where I was, but just confused. I hope this goes away.

hello tasha,
I am not on Zonegran, but the AEDs I do take are Topamax, Lamictal, and Klonipin. It seems that many meds do cause confusion and drowsiness to some degree or another, especially when first prescribed.

I've been on all 3 of those meds for nearly four years now, and confusion is still a problem sometimes, but it could be the seizures as well a the medications causing it. I hope you will be feeling better very soon.
