My son has just started Zongran 3 days ago.He is not up to full dose yet.I have read Zonagran is approved for >16 yrs of age.My son is 11 yrs old.Does anyone have experience with this drug in kids?

Hi my daughter is 4 and she is on zonagran... she is up to her full dose, and it is not helping her much.. She just had the vagal nerve stimulator put in on friday, so we are hoping that does the trick.. But she was put on the zonagran back in sept. and like all the other drugs she was on, NO HELP!

I have been on Zonegran and Dilantin for the past three months and so far I have not had a seizure! My doctor plans to increase the Zonegran and decrease the dilantin. The side effects that I have read about have not really effected me. I guess I have been lucky. However, I rather be on Dilantin only because on Dilantin the labs have a way to measure the blood levels. The labs don't have a way to measure zonegran yet.

Hi,my son has ben on the Zonegran for 1 week now and I don't see any real improvement.He says the seizures feel just as hard but to us they don't look as hard.Now with just some tremors and occasional jerks.Does this happen with anyone else?

Hi like i said my daughter has been on it since sept. of 2000 and still no improvements just as many seizures as before. However shd does have the side effects of crying all the time, like a depression. and she is only 4. she is on zonagran, zarontin, and acetolzamide,and valum,and ativan as needed. Nothing is helping she had this vagal nerve stimulator put in and she is still seizing with that and all the meds.. best of luck to you
