View Full Version : take your medication

So you have epilepsy. It does not have to upset your life. If you take your medication in the amount the Doctor believes needed you will not have to worry about seizures at all. There are some side effects with depecote but those side effects are so small and you can mini those effects to almost nothing. And you must recognize that by taking this drug as directed you are doing yourself a favor. Pride and self respect come from not having to pick yourself up off the street. And lastly, you will put to rest all the issues and concerns lurking in the shadows of the minds of the other people that care. They will not be wondering about "the phone call that could come" (notification of a medicial emergancy) and they will not be worried that you had a seizure and you smashed your head on concrete and the doctors do not know if you will ever be the same person again. Take your medication..... for you and for everyone else in this world.

I have to disagree with you. Just because you take the meds the dr has prescribed doesn't mean you won't have any seizures. Over the last 7 years I have been on a few different meds in different combos and different dosages. Since I was diagnosed I have never been completely seizure free. This is not from lack of trying on the dr's part and I hardly ever miss a dose.

I will also have to disagree with you with taking what the doc says and you won't have seizures anymore. I will have to find what the % is of people who can not be helped by drugs. I had to go 15 years of not being able to find the drugs or combination of drugs that would end my siezures.

Take Care,

Med's are aids to prevent siezure's
they are not guarentee's that you will
not have one.
