I had been on Triphasil for many many years, like 15 and now it is no longer available at the local pharmacies and I had to try the generic Trivora. I had tried the Trivora before and got really bad headaches, but after trying it this time, I thought I was ok until I started to get leg cramps after 3 months of being on it. My doctor then switched me to the generic Junel 1/30 Fe, generic of the Loestrin. I thought I was fine on this too, until in the third week I have had breakthrough bleeding and it hasn't stopped yet. I wasn't due to get my period until next wednesday and this pill was suppose to give me a shorter period. Instead this has made me bleed longer, like two weeks. I also have alot more cramping on this pill, the kind that I used to get before even taking any birth control pill, when I was younger. I never had any type of breakthrough bleeding or spotting on any of the pills that I have taken in my life before. This is strange now. My doctor keeps telling me to stay on it for another month and see if the spotting goes away, saying is usually get better in the second or third month. There is no way that I want to. I want to go back on Triphasil and back to normal again. My motto: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It is just my luck that I was on a pill for so long that worked for me and then they go and can't get it anymore from the manufacturer. I'm tempted to order from an on line pharmacy to get the Brand Name Triphasil again. Has anyone out there had a simlar problem with this generic Loestrin: Junel 1/30 Fe. I can't stand bleeding for two weeks when this should have never happened. Please let me know your story.....

I feel the same way about switching, I was on triphasil too, and now i am taking a generic and i hate it too. I don't understand what is taking them so long to make it, its been like 6 months since its been on backorder. I had no side effects on triphasil either.

Hey there,
You may want to order Triphasil, the brand name, through the company planetdrugsdirect.com. Comes from New Zealand, but is exactly the same thing and isn't generic.(Only difference that I found is New Zealand starts their weeks on Saturday instead of Sunday, my pill start day)If you can't get the Brand name Triphasil locally, then you might want to look into online pharmacies. This one is only $55.00 for 3 months (approx. $18.00 per month) just need a prescription from your doctor. Don't need to use your insurance either. Hope this helps.
