Hey I was wondering, when is the best time to get a STD test? I have been told that there are times during the year where the virus can be undetected during a certain time. So when is the best time to get tested?

There is no "special time" during the year when it best to get tested. STDs don't appear like geese traveling north. BUt there are a couple of things you need to consider. First, you should be tested after you've had an encounter from which you think you may have contracted the STD. Second, most STDs have symptoms and, therefore, if you are symptomatic for an STD then you need to be tested for that particular STD. FOr example, if you get tested for syphillis, don't assume you will also tested for HIV or gonorrhea. Each STD has it's own special test. Third, if you think you have been exposed to HIV, then the best time is thirteen weeks post exposure. Fourth, many recommend an annual STD panel including HIV as one mechanism for control the spread of STDs. On the other hand, if you are sexually acitve and not practising safe-sex techniues, then may you need to be tested more frequently. And, six, why aren't you practising safe sex techniques? Chris

I am still a virgin. I havent had sexual intercourse of any kind. But, in the past I have crossed boundaries and participated in oral sex (only a couple of times) I most likely have nothing to worry about, but I always like to make sure anyway. In both occasions no one ejaculated. So its just to be extra careful.
